The Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, is a Smithsonian Affiliate housing 5 family-friendly museums under 1 roof‚ the Buffalo Bill Museum, Whitney Western Art Museum, Plains Indian Museum, Draper Natural History Museum, and Cody Firearms Museum‚ connecting people to the American West through history, culture, art, natural science, authentic chuckwagon dinners, live birds of prey shows, special events, expert talks and demonstrations, and customized exclusive tours. Admission is good for two days!

Buffalo Bill's Irma Hotel & Restaurant

For over 100 years, the Irma has been a symbol of neighborliness and good cheer where people could relax and be themselves. Everyone from Colonel Cody, to princes and potentates, Indian chiefs and cowboys ‚came as they were‚ to the Irma. The hotel was opened to the public on November 1, 1902. A grand opening celebration followed on November 18 (see original invitation below). Buffalo Bill spent $80,000 in 1902 dollars on construction costs. He named the hotel for his youngest daughter Irma, born February 9, 1886.

This historically based, comedic full-length production is offered on select days for 7 weeks during the summer at the historic downtown Cody Theatre, located on Sheridan Avenue in Cody, Wyoming. You’ll meet Annie Oakley, “Wild Bill” Hickok, Frank Butler, sharpshooters, saloon girls, and more as Buffalo Bill Cody‚ dream of becoming the WORLD’S greatest showman to ever live, comes to life. Our cast from around the country are certain to entertain you with the fascinating true story of William F. Cody, our towns namesake; and well-known songs that will have you singing along. For an added unique experience, during intermission the audience can interact with cast members in character and belly up to the stage bar to buy a sarsaparilla. Make us a dinner & a show with 5 different meal options from Clem’s Canteen & Creamery located in our lobby.

Chuckwagon Dinner at Center of the West

Come and experience the spirit of the Wild West at the Chuckwagon Dinner at Center of the West, located at 720 Sheridan Ave, Cody, WY, USA. Step back in time as you indulge in a hearty and delicious Western-style meal, served straight from a traditional chuckwagon. This unique dining experience offers a taste of cowboy life with authentic cuisine and awe-inspiring views of the majestic Wyoming landscape. Situated in the heart of Cody, Wyoming, this dinner is perfect for families, friends, and anyone seeking an immersive Western experience. So saddle up and join us at the Chuckwagon Dinner at Center of the West, where the Old West comes alive. Tuesday and Saturday nights all summer long. Watch us cook at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30. Cody Firearms Experience, LLC

Shoot the guns that Won the West! We tell the history of America through the use of histrorical firearms in our indoor range. Walk through time with the help of our Range Safety Officers, who will guide you through the use of each firearm. Over 70 to choose from! From Flintlocks to Modern Day, we have it all. Laser Arcade and Indoor Ax throwing available as well.

Cody Night Rodeo

The Cody Nite Rodeo started in 1938 and is the longest running and the only nightly rodeo (June-August) in the world. Mo Betta Rodeo Company and Tate family have been producing the nightly rodeo for over 18 years and continue to make history.
Gates open at 7:00 p.m. with rodeo action kicking off at 8:00 p.m. All seating is general admission within two sections, but we do suggest you purchase tickets in advance online.
Be sure to arrive early and have your picture taken on our live rodeo bull “”Mongo””, ride the mechanical bull, get your face painted by the rodeo clowns, learn to rope like the cowboys & cowgirls, and visit our Cody Nite Rodeo store.

Cody Trolley Tours

Our one hour Best of the West Trolley Tour will take you on a 22 mile historic adventure in and around Cody, Wyoming. The uniquely western history of Cody comes to life during your one hour tour. Each 60-minute, multi-media performance is choreographed to the sites and sounds that pass by your window.Two energetic guides portray the historic Old West while spotlighting Cody Country‚ and the best new west attractions. Two trolley guides will entertain you with stories, myths and legends about Buffalo Bill Cody, Annie Oakley, and the Wild West as you discover the many things to do while in the Cody, Wyoming area. We are dog friendly, just let us know if you have a pet coming along!

Homesteader Museum

Take a Step Back in Time & Experience One of the Best Hidden Treasures in Wyoming!
Visitors of all ages love climbing aboard the caboose, exploring the homesteader cabins, and learning about the lives of the American West homesteaders/settlers.
The town of Powell became the home to one of the first and last Bureau of Reclamation Project in the United States, known as the Shoshone Reclamation Project of 1904, a federally funded irrigation and homesteading project in the Rocky Mountain West. Through our collection of artifacts, historic buildings, and photographs, the Homesteader Museum embodies the rugged homesteading life of the early Big Horn Basin pioneer.
As a nonprofit museum, we use our resources to preserve the livelihood of homesteaders and their families, history of the town of Powell, and the garden spot of Wyoming.

Meeteetse Museums

Located in Meeteetse, Wyoming, the Meeteetse Museums (composed of the Charles Belden Museum of Western Photography, the Meeteetse Museum, and the First National Bank Museum) offer a fascinating glimpse into the rich cultural and natural history of the area. Explore the unique exhibits that showcase the town’s rich cowboy and ranching heritage, including photographer Charles Belden, adventurer Carl Dunrud, and the Meeteetse Mercantile. The Museums also provide insights into the area’s wildlife and natural wonders, with exhibits on bears Big Joe and Little Wahb, and the endangered blackfooted ferret. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or nature lover, the Meeteetse Museums promise an unforgettable experience for all.Events and programs are announced on the website and social media. The website also features links to virtual offerings. Hours: Tues – Sat 10-5 (Summer), 10-4 (Offseason). Closed to the public January and February. Free but welcome donations.

Old Trail Town and Museum of the Old West

“Enjoy a self-guided tour along the boardwalk through Old Trail Town, an open air museum of 28 historical buildings (dating from 1879 to 1901) moved to this site from Wyoming and Montana. You are able to walk in to many of the buildings including the River Saloon and the Hole in the Wall cabin frequented by Butch Cassidy, The Sundance Kid, and their gang. Visit Old Trail Town’s cemetery where Jeremiah “”Liver Eatin’”” Johnston is buried. The Museum of the Old West showcases displays of Western and Native American memorabilia. Old Trail Town’s main street is filled with 1800s wagons and the wagon barn houses many more. Old Trail Town is the largest collection of its kind in Wyoming.

Doors open at 5:00. Dinner starts promptly at 5:30pm and show starts at 6:30 p.m. Join Ryan Martin and the Triple C Cowboys for a thoroughly enjoyable evening of foot-stompin, hand-clappin fun family entertainment. Ryan and his band have entertained thousands of people around the world and is a popular entertainer of the bus groups that make their regular stops in Cody. The Western Music Show starring Ryan Martin and the Triple C Cowboys perform live at the Cody Cattle Company seven days a week from May 26, 2023- Sept 15, 2023, closed July 4, 2023.
