Cody Yellowstone’s Sitti’s Table Nominated for a James Beard “Best Chef” Award; the Wildly Popular Three-Year-Old Daytime Eatery Features Lebanese-Inspired Cuisine

Cody, Wyoming’s Sitti’s Table was nominated for the “Best Chef” James Beard Award for the mountain region, including Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Utah and Idaho. Nearing its third anniversary in May 2025, Sitti’s Table was the only Wyoming restaurant to be nominated for the regional award.

Sitti’s Table is owned and operated by the wife/husband team of Porter Koury and Jacob Scott. The duo serve cuisine inspired in part by her own Lebanese family’s culinary traditions. Her

grandmother Marie Koury was a cookbook author. Situated on a side street within steps of Cody’s pedestrian-packed main street, Sheridan Ave., the lively restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch. It features a cozy seating area adjacent to the window as well as a market area stocked with hand-crafted spice mixes, prepared products and other items used in the preparation of the cuisine.

Koury and Scott opened the restaurant after operating a popular catering company for five years. Initially the tiny restaurant was primarily focused on grab-and-go food with only two tables and four seats, but it was so popular that it quickly grew to accommodate demand. The restaurant is presently expanding into a neighboring unoccupied space – a former hair salon – and upon completion of that expansion in May, it will have a total of 44 seats.

“This award is an acknowledgement of our talented and passionate staff and valued patrons, because without their support and dedication we couldn’t have grown from offering just grab-and-go sandwiches to the menu offerings we have today,” said Porter Koury. “We are abundantly grateful to everyone.”

Some of Sitti’s Table patrons’ favorite menu items include Mushroom Tartine and Croque Madame for breakfast and Wagyu Steak Shawarma and Falafel for lunch. The restaurant also offers takeout meals. Menus are continuously evolving to reflect the availability of fresh ingredients and the creativity and inspiration of the owners.

“Having a Sitti’s Table-caliber restaurant in downtown Cody is a game-changer for our residents and visitors who seek out refined culinary adventures,” said Ryan Hauck, executive director of Cody Yellowstone, the marketing arm for the destination that includes the towns of Cody, Meeteetse and Powell, the Shoshone National Forest and a large swath of Yellowstone National Park. “We are abundantly proud to be home to such a stellar restaurant. Porter and Jacob have brought a next-level dining experience to the streets of Cody.”

The restaurant has been featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diner’s Drive-Ins and Dives,” as well as on the PBS series Hometowns. It has welcomed famous visitors such as Will Ferrell as well.

Hauck noted that Sitti’s Table is one of many outstanding in-town restaurants that have been attracting diners, who he believes have become increasingly discerning about their culinary choices.

Sitti’s Table was one of 20 restaurants in the mountain states to be nominated for the “Best Chef” award, one of several James Beard award categories. The finalists will be announced on Wednesday, April 2, and the winners will be announced at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 16 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
