Reigning Champion Cody, Wyoming Defends its Status as “Best Small Town Beer Scene” in USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards

Cody is defending its title as “Best Small Town Beer Scene” in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards contest. Voting begins today online and ends Feb. 24.

“Top-notch beer, a comfortable atmosphere and welcoming companions make for a winning combination,” said Ryan Hauck, executive director of Cody Yellowstone, the marketing arm for the region that includes the towns of Cody, Powell and Meeteetse, a large swath of the Shoshone National Forest and about half of Yellowstone National Park. “Our beer scene is a positive reflection of our whole destination which encourages visitors and locals alike to slow down and savor everything from restaurants and breweries to historical attractions and galleries.”

Breweries include Cody Craft Brewing, Millstone Pizza Company & Brewery, Pat’s Brew House, and WYOld West Brewing. Follow the “Sippin’ Trail” by enjoying the region’s vibrant bar and restaurant scene while using an app that provides drink discounts and allows you to accumulate points for prizes.

Readers may vote once each day, and leaderboards track the competition until close to the end of voting.

Cody Yellowstone has garnered numerous other awards and media accolades recently. For example, the destination was named one of the top rafting destinations in the U.S. by Newsweek, Best Small Towns in the West by USA Today, Top Small Town Arts Scenes and a top art town by Travel + Leisure. Additionally, the Whitney Western Art Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West was named the Best Art Museum in the U.S. by Newsweek. Recently it was named for the second consecutive year a “Top Western Town” by the editors of True West magazine.

The Irma Hotel was also recognized as one of the “Best Who Slept Here” hotels for the second year in a row.
